2016 Hotel Critiques

October 4 - 11, 2016
Habana Inn @ 2200 NW 40th St, Oklahoma City, OK

The Hotel is a bit dated, and don't have a lot of amenities, but the rates are reasonable.  They do have a restaurant and 3 bars.  The rooms are roomy, great hot water, but the shower does not have a lot of pressure.  They are updating the rooms bit by bit by the looks of it.  Caution on the defensive side, they do have lots of Homeless and Drug Dealers around the area, watch where you park your vehicle, as they will try to get in.  The Restaurant and Ledo Lounge staff are very friendly, but the other bars the Bartenders are very standoffish and rude, they don't seem to interested in paying attention to guests at times.  It is a Gay Hotel, so though out the day you have non guests cruising the halls looking to hookup, don't leave your door open, they will come in.  They do not have laundry on the premises, but there is a laundromat about 1/4 mile away.  They don't offer a breakfast, but they do have Coffee and Muffins out in the morning, the restaurant does not open till 9am on weekends and 11am on weekdays except closed on Mondays.  If you want a Gay Cruising Place this is the location for you.  I'm not sure if I will stay here again next visit to Oklahoma City in 2017 as several potential clients won't step foot on the premises.

Comfort Inn @ 707 Interstate 30, Little Rock, AR

Nice hotel, have stayed there before, has been over a year, and the front desk clerk remembered me as well as the Bartender.  Staff was very nice and friendly, Internet was good, but couldn't update my website for some reason, they have blocks on their system.  Breakfast was good, they do have a Restaurant, can not charge to your room as the Restaurant / Bar are on separate systems, but you can pay Cash or Credit Card.  The Bar is a great place to meet other guests and hang out at the end of the day, but the bar does close at 9pm, so get there early.  Hotel is right off the freeway, they do have Laundry and plenty of parking, within walking distance to downtown or you can take the Shuttle between certain hours.

Best Western @ 2023 Market Center Blvd, Dallas, TX

Nice Hotel, Great Internet and wonderful Breakfast.  The Cleaning Staff are very rude and don't speak English.  If you have your Do Not Disturb sign up, they will pound on your door, and let themselves in, they do not care.  The front desk staff are very nice and helpful, the Dryers were broke while there, and they used the Commercial Dry for Housekeeping to dry my laundry, way above and beyond expectation.  The rooms are roomy and well decorated.  Will probably stay there again, just hope they will speak to their Cleaning Staff about what the Do Not Disturb means.

Comfort Inn @ 2316 W Cameron St, Tulsa, OK

Nice Hotel, a bit of a distance from restaurants and downtown, but a quick Drive or Uber ride, just remember if you go out, they still allow smoking in the Bars, be prepared it can be overwhelming.  The staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast was awesome, they changed the main hot part daily, not the same thing to look forward to day after day which is a nice change.  They do have Laundry available open 24 hours which is nice.  The Suites are nice size and comfortable beds.  Plenty of parking and the hotel is right off the freeway, easy and convenient to get to.

Hiway House Motel @ 3200 Central Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM

Great Nob Hill Location, right in the Center of everything.  Plenty of Parking for Guests, Guest Laundry available at a reasonable rate.  Rooms are spacious, great hot water and one of the best WiFi's that I have had traveling.  I have had lots of clients that stopped by for a Massage, and said they had seen the sign for years, but never stopped.  They were impressed with the inside of the Motel Room.  The Owner and Son lives on property, so you can feel safe about your vehicle and their won't be any loud obnoxious parties.  You are right on Central Ave but can not hear the traffic or the noise.  If you are traveling to Albuquerque and plan on staying someplace near Nob Hill, I would Highly Recommend trying them out.

Quality Inn @ 1166 W Katella Ave, Anaheim, CA

Great location, near Disney Land, you can walk there if you would like.  The Staff was great and friendly, breakfast was good and warm.  The Rooms are nice size, kept clean.  Plenty of Parking, will cost $5 per night for parking, but they do have security that keeps an eye on the cars.

Sommerset Suites @ 606 Washington St, San Diego, CA

If you like the Hillcrest Area, this is the place for you.  Parking is $12 per day, but worth it in the end.  Huge guest laundry for a hotel.  You are in the Heart of Hillcrest, also close to the Hospitals.  You can walk to any part of Hillcrest that you desire.  Your also a short drive to downtown or the beaches, Uber is also available if you don't feel like driving.  Staff from the Front Desk to the Cleaning Staff are very polite and friendly.  The hotel is in Lock Down mode in the evening for safety and they do have security for the vehicles.  My room was a Kitchenette with Dishes, Glassware, Silverware and Utensils, along with a Dishwasher and full size fridge, so if you are there for a few days, you can cook your own meals instead of going out every night.

Quality Inn @ 3201 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach, CA

Great Location, not real close to downtown, but a safe neighborhood.  Breakfast is good, guest laundry available, plenty of parking, they do offer Stay, Park & Cruise Packages, which I have and will take advantage of again.  Rooms are pretty nice size, and they are pretty updated.  It is close to the airport and traffic circle, not to far from the freeways.  Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

July 12 - 19, 2016
Comfort Inn @ 171 W 500 S, Salt Lake City, UT

Great location, near Downtown and the Temple.  Staff is great, this time they only room they had available was a Suite when I made my reservation, was a huge room, plenty of room for the Table, and the clients all felt relaxed in the Huge Room.  Breakfast is great, plenty to choose from and very hearty.  Within walking distance of plenty restaurants, entertainment and sites.   Truck was parked for a week and didn't need to move.  They do have a Hot Tub, but I still have not made it over there, one of these trips I will.

Days Inn @ 615 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM

Great location, near Downtown and University, plenty of parking, pretty safe area.  I do have to say it is time for them to start doing some updating, I stayed in a Suite this time, and there were old marks all over the walls, the carpet was sticky, there were supposed to be 2 TV's the wall bracket was there for the second TV but it did not exist.  Breakfast is ok, they have Yogurt all the time instead of hit or miss.

April 28 - May 3, 2016
Embassy Suites @ 2333 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ

Worked PhurFest 2016 doing Massages, the hotel was great, they made sure I was close to the Pool Entrance this time so I was able to be seen and get more business this year, also gave me extra towels so my clients could take showers after their Massage if needed.  Plenty of parking, they have a Managers Happy Hour every evening, at the Restaurant on the 5th Floor, as well as a made to order breakfast every morning.  Great Laundry Area on the 4th floor close to the gym.  Cleaning Staff was great as well as the Front Desk Staff and Bar / Restaurant Staff, friendly all the way around.  Looking forward to going back in 2017 for PhurFest.

Quality Inn @ 1300 N Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ

Great location, close to Downtown and UofA, the Hot Tub is fixed, Good Healthy Breakfast, renovations are about done, which makes the Hotel pretty up to date.  Staff is awesome, rooms are clean and crisp.  Plenty of hot water for taking nice long showers if desired.  Laundry room is convenient.  Will be staying with them again in the future.
